Art Easel Review of a Deluxe Easel

My Deluxe Easel Review

I went to another great estate sale in the area with a few treasures on my lists that I was hoping to find. Before I start my treasure hunt, I always take a quick inventory of things I would like to have or could use for my home.  An art easel was the number one thing on my list. There are always mobs of people so be quick to visually scan a room in search for items of interest. Tip: Grab and move on to the next room. If you decide not to purchase it, you can leave it for another treasure seeker among the multitude of people. This was a good day. I like to call it a Manna day. I found my easel. This is my art easel review of a Deluxe Easel.

The price for my lightly used easel: $10:00. It is a Deluxe Easel by Studio Designs. This easel is a heavy-duty quality built Easel that will last a long time. It will accommodate a canvas up to 72″ in height and a 1.5″ thick gallery canvas. It”s durable quality makes it little heavy in weight (20 lbs.), but is built for frequent or everyday use. I keep it set up in my living room with an empty canvas or a working canvas displayed on it just to keep me inspired. It’s simple design blends well with any style home and can be set up as a permanent functional piece of home decor. You can find it on the Amazon Prime list for about $80.00 (the price will vary depending on market price). I think it is a really good deal for the quality and price. I couldn’t be happier.

Deluxe Easel Demo

Here is a quick video to show you how easy the easel is to adjust. You can raise the height for a larger canvas and tilt it back for ease of painting. The built-in tray is just the right size to hold extra paints and brushes while working on your canvas.

Comparing Other Easels

I have had a portable wooden easel in the past and it didn’t last long. The legs become wobbly when they are extended, the wing nuts to adjust the height are flimsy, and the drawer is hard to open because the wood is dry and tight. It is nice to have the drawer to hold your paint, but not really that practical. If you think about it, when do artists keep their paints organized and limit supplies to a few paints and brushes. It is fine for doing plein air painting, but I prefer to bring a tote with a handle on it.
