Decorative Artist & Blogger
Hello, I am Jennifer (Hubble) Thibodeaux. I am the color girl and a decorative artist. I create custom finishes on walls, cabinets, furniture, fixtures, and just about anything that needs a good coat of paint. My background in Home Economics Family Consumer Science gives me the fundamentals to nurtures my passion for color, interior design, and textile sciences.
The Color Girl Journey
Before becoming a decorative artist, I was a single mom with two boys for many years. I wore many hats along with being a mom, dad, and handyman (handy woman). I lived on a very small budget so it was essential to stretch resources. It was necessary to be creative with things readily available, and figure out how to fix things, sometimes by trial and error. Fortunately, I grew up in a family of artists and craftsmen. Our family motto was,” Why buy it when you can make it or fix it yourself?”
In effect, a little inspiration, a touch of creativity, and paint will go a long way in home improvement. Paint is the easiest, and usually most cost-effective way to transform an object or a room. Items that can be repaired or transformed rather than replaced are a significant way to save when you are on a tight budget. It is also a “Green” way to save on the environment by making your household items last longer rather than throwing them into the landfills so quickly.
If you love color, creating, and saving money, follow the color girl as I share new ideas on home painting projects. I will also share creative projects and ideas to inspire the artist within you. You will learn some tricks-of-the-trade that will be added to your tool belt.
